Katherine Jackson to get custody

Michael Jackson’s mother has agreed a deal to get custody of his children.

Katherine Jackson – who became the temporary guardian of Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II shortly after her son’s death last month – has reportedly reached an agreement with the eldest two children’s biological mother Debbie Rowe.

Katherine’s lawyer L. Londell McMillan told US TV programme ‘Early Show’: “It’s an agreement, an agreement for the best interests of the children. This is not a money deal. This is not about money.

“There is no situation better for these children than for them to be raised and reared in the loving care of Mrs. Katherine Jackson.”

It is believed Katherine will be given full custody, while Debbie will receive visitation rights.

Debbie will not be given any money, contrary to reports she was willing to accept a lump sump to give up her rights to the children.

The Los Angeles Times newspaper claims a child psychologist will be hired to discuss how, when and where Debbie’s visits should take place.

Various reports suggest Prince Michael I and Paris have had little or no contact with their mother since she divorced Michael in 1999, when she gave up her parental rights claiming he was the best father imaginable.

McMillan also responded to claims Michael did not want his father Joe Jackson – who Michael accused of physically abusing him when he was a child – to help raise his kids.

He said: “I don’t think it’s valid at all. I think Joe Jackson is the husband of Mrs. Jackson, but he’s not living in Los Angeles.”

McMillan also spoke about Michael’s 2002 will, in which he named lawyer John Branca and former music executive John McClain as the executors of his estate.

Katherine is arguing she should be kept abreast of any decision made relating to Michael’s estate, even though she was not named an executor.

Howard Weitzman, the lawyer for Branca and McClain, argues Katherine and her attorneys are trying to “re-write Michael’s will” so she can be more involved.

McMillan said: “He’s incorrect. Mrs. Jackson is not contesting the will. We are not trying to rewrite the will. Our concern is for anyone to have extraordinary powers, they need to have extraordinary trust and integrity.

“The question is what happened to this will in 2002? How come no one knew about it? How come Mrs. Jackson didn’t know about it? How come I didn’t know about it? How come we learned about it the day we filed a petition in court stating he died without a will?

“That estate is worth, in my estimation, a couple of billion dollars. You hear $500 million. Don’t buy it.”

Michael Jackson died with doll

Michael Jackson was cuddling a doll when he died.

A Los Angeles Police Department source has claimed the ‘King of Pop’ spent his last night snuggling up to the “child-sized porcelain doll”, which was wearing a dress.

Detectives reportedly found the “bizarre toy” on the bed where Michael collapsed into a coma last month.

The source claims the star was “living in squalor” in the months before he died, with clothes and other items strewn around his bedroom in his rented Holmby Hills mansion in Los Angeles, which was kept “stiflingly hot”.

There were strange notes, apparently handwritten by Michael himself, stuck onto the room’s walls bearing the words “children are sweet” and “children are innocent”.
The police officer said: “The temperature upstairs was stiflingly hot, with gas fireplaces and the heating system on high because Jackson always complained of feeling cold.

“The singer’s bedroom was a mess, with items seemingly thrown about and some 20 handwritten notes stuck on the walls. A porcelain girl doll wearing a dress was found on top of the covers of the bed where he slept.”

The officer also claims the singer’s staff were banned from entering his room to clean up the mess.

Meanwhile, the fight for Michael’s inheritance between his mother Katherine and the attorneys for the singer’s estate and concert promoter AEG Live has intensified.

After losing a bid to be named temporary administrator of her son’s estate, Katherine has demanded to see hundreds of financial documents, including contracts her son had with his record label, concert officials and even his father Joseph.

In papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, Katherine said: “The special administrators of Michael’s estate have, up to this point, refused all requests. They are apparently intent on keeping me in the dark as much and for as long as possible.”

Attorneys for AEG Live – the company promoting Michael’s comeback concerts in London – argued Katherine could not be granted access to the documents because she “would not uphold a confidentiality agreement”.

Papers filed by AEG Live said: “Without the safeguards necessary to ensure the continued confidentiality of the artist agreement and any proposed modifications, AEG cannot provide such information to Ms. Jackson or her counsel without risking serious harm to its business.”

Doctor gave Jackson drug that killed him: CNN

LOS ANGELES (AFP) – Michael Jackson’s doctor administered the powerful drug police believed killed the music superstar, CNN quoting a source with knowledge of the investigation reported.

Doctor Conrad Murray has become the focus of the probe into Jackson’s death amid reports that bottles of the potent anesthetic propofol were found at the star’s mansion after his tragic June 25 demise.

A report on CNN’s website did not give further information and a spokeswoman for Murray’s legal team refused to comment. A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department also declined to comment.

Jackson’s cause of death has been deferred pending the outcome of toxicology tests following a June 25 post mortem. Those test results could be released later this week.

The report comes just days after federal agents and detectives swooped without warning on Murray’s Houston office, revealing for the first time in a search warrant that Jackson’s death was being treated as possible manslaughter.

Propofol is used in hospitals to induce unconsciousness in patients ahead of major surgery. Experts say it should only be administered by a trained anesthesiologist and there could be no reason for it to be in Jackson’s home.

Lawyers for Murray said in a statement last week the doctor was keen to assist authorities in their investigation and was preparing for a third meeting with police after two earlier interviews.

“The coroner wants to clear up the cause of death, we share that goal,” attorney Ed Chernoff said in a statement.

Murray is currently in Las Vegas, his legal team said, and Chernoff insisted that “based on Dr Murray’s minute-by-minute and item-by-item description of Michael Jackson’s last days, he should not be a target of criminal charges.

“Dr Murray was the last doctor standing when Michael Jackson died and it seems all the fury is directed toward him,” Chernoff said.

“Dr Murray is frustrated by negative and often erroneous media reports, he has to walk around 24-7 with a bodyguard. He can’t operate his practice.”

In the immediate aftermath of Jackson’s death, friends of the singer’s family said the clan had “unanswered questions” regarding Murray.

“They (the family) are suspicious of this doctor and they have real reason to be because any other doctor would say ‘Here’s what happened in the last hour of his life and I was there. I gave him some medicine,'” family friend and civil rights activist Jesse Jackson said.

“(Murray) owes it to the family and to the public to say, ‘These were the last hours of Michael’s life and here’s what happened.’ That’s a reasonable expectation.”

Paris Jackson’s Gift To Daddy

I know that a lot of you are interested in the Michael Jackson thing so I found another article about it on Yahoo! Entertainment. 🙂

Michael Jackson’s grieving daughter wrapped a heart necklace around his wrist as his body lay in an open coffin.

Paris Jackson, 11, wanted to give the piece of jewellery to her late father when she visited him at Los Angeles’ Forest Lawn Cemetery last Monday (06.07.09) as she wanted to make sure he always had something to remind him of her.

Michael’s elder sister La Toya, who witnessed the heartbreaking act during the family’s private viewing, said: “Paris told me, ‘The heart is in two pieces. I want one half to go to daddy and I will wear the other half forever.’

“She carefully wrapped it around his wrist and said, ‘Daddy this is for you. On daddy, it will be blue because he is cold. On me, it’s purple. He’s so cold, he is so cold.’ ”

Paris bought the necklace – which changes colour according to temperature – after Michael died of a suspected cardiac arrest last month and she wore it when she made her emotional tribute to him at his memorial service last Tuesday (07.07.09).

As well as the jewellery, Paris also got some coloured stones to decorate her dad’s body with.

La Toya – who has claimed Michael was murdered by the “shadowy entourage” he surrounded himself – also recalled the moment she first saw Paris and her brothers, Prince Michael I and Prince Michael II, also known as ‘Blanket’, after the ‘Thriller’ singer’s death.

She said: “When I got to the hospital my mother was crying and the kids were crying. I screamed, ‘Is it true?’ and my mother said, ‘Yes, he’s gone.’ I couldn’t stop crying. I’m screaming and the kids are screaming. My mother was sitting there with all three of them on her lap, just crying.”

La Toya also revealed Michael was not the biological father of ‘Blanket’, revealing the youngster was conceived via artificial insemination.

She said: “Michael didn’t want to know who the biological parents were. They took eggs from a donor and I believe the sperm came from one of five donors picked from a book.

“I don’t know who carried the child or if the surrogate knew whose child she was carrying. Those children were his greatest joy. He was a superstar but the only people who loved him unconditionally were the children.”
