We don’t have a specific theme or genre or any guidelines to follow, which is great when it comes to the Post A Week challenge. We can choose any topic, from anywhere, pretty much write about anything that pleases us. Or not write at all…
It’s great when it comes to blogging, really.
Not that you’d call Ebony Ink a blog… It’s more of a mush. Website, gossip site, scrapbook, blog. A mush.
Wow it’s been ages… it’s not that we don’t have anything to say, it’s just that we haven’t got the time to… Y’know, what with being real busy sixteen-year-olds and all 😉
Jokes apart, we’ve actually been hard at work trying to put together our dream- Ebony Ink as a self hosted website. Of course, we’ll miss WordPress, but we just feel that it’s time to move on, you know?
We’re still in the developmental stages of the blog, but it’ll be up and running soon 🙂
In the meantime, keep checking back because we’re back and on fire!!!!!!!!!!!
Ebony Ink is putting up another story (written by it’s creators, Alisha and Hafsa-together). This time it’s a romance mixed with superhero story. We will be releasing bits of it weekly on our Facebook group, so if you really want to know what happens next, join us on Facebook and we will notify you when each new part is released!
It’s all very simple… just join the group and enjoy the story…
To catch us on Facebook, simply log on to Facebook and search for Ebony Ink and join the group if you’re interested or you can click the link below:
Anyway, you guys can find the story in our Stories and Beyond page under the name Superhero Story. Here is a sneak peak…
The silence of the house replied to my un-ladylike shout.
“SETH! You f***ing MORON!”
Cautiously I stepped in to Seth’s dark lounge. Everything was dark. When I got used to the dark, shadows of the scattered debris on the floor, along with the presence of the second hand sofa, made themselves slightly visible. Seth’s lounge was very tiny but as messy as a rubbish dump. There was only a long three seater couch, a small, broken television and a small ornament rack which had his keys, a photo of me and last night’s dinner on it. Seth was a slob.
I turned toward the door and searched for the light switch. I found it and switched it on but the light didn’t flicker on. Either bulb wasn’t working or he had forgotten to pay the bills. The latter seemed more possible. Sighing, I turned back to the lounge. Only then I noticed a bigger figure on the lounge. Anxiously, I crept closer. Yep, it was Seth, sleeping when he was supposed to pick me up for our date.
I found a candle and a matchbox on the table that held the keys and photos. In it’s light I saw Seth properly for the first time in the last two weeks.
Ohhh…he slept like a baby. Golden blonde hair tousled unkemptly under a handsome face that, even in sleep, showed his wild side. He was hugging the rugged cushion to himself and looked absolutely cute and at peace. The exact reason for my rage.
I put my hands on his shoulders and shook him as hard as I could.
“WAKE UP!” I shouted.
He jerked awake like someone had punched him on the face (something I barely restrained to do). Baby blue eyes widened as he saw me. For a second he looked confused. Then he sat up, grinning ear to ear.
“Hey, Shweet Shiya!” he exclaimed, removing my hands from his shoulder and standing up as I straightened up. “Why are you dressed up? Headed to a party?”
I had to clench my fists to stop it flinging toward him to beat him up.
“No”, I said, through gritted teeth. “I’m waiting…”
He looked up from trying to straighten out his very messy hair. “Waiting for what?”
That did it.
New Year celebration leads Ebony Ink to add new things and they are here. We have updated the blog and we would like you to check out the latest in our blog. These include a new story (found in the page Stories and Beyond) called A Page Out of Another Life (ignore the cheesy name), a page that urgently require your stories of random acts of kindness in the Random Acts Of Kindness Page, updates on the One Picture A Tousand Words page and an upcoming article about the glitches we here of the new Indian movie 3 Idiots!
As you might have noticed we’ve changed quite a bit on the blog and now we’re taking the makeover further!
We have (finally) added those sparkly new pages we said we would so check out our…
So the pages aren’t exactly filled up yet but they will be soon, so if you have a touching quote or story, some motivation, inspiration, an urge to show off something nice you did for someone even though you didn’t have to, or someone did something for you that touched your heart, leave a comment to share it with the rest of the world. =]
And just so you don’t miss out on anything make sure you Bookmark us and check back because the next 10 days at Ebony Ink are going to be filled with changes and BRAND NEW STUFF!!
If you have any comments or suggestions for us, please leave us a comment and we’ll be sure to get back as soon as we possibly can (24 hours at the most, since we may be in different time zones =])
We hope you had a spook-tacualar Halloween! (Yeah, okay, I know it’s the most overused and cheesy line everrrr)
We just want to update you on what’s happening on the blog for the next few weeks. We have our end of year exams coming up so we’re, let’s put it like this, ‘taking a break’. But don’t worry we’ll be back on with brand new stuff (we’re adding a few pages and making some others redundant) because after the exams we have… HOLIDAYS!! (NZ, Southern hemisphere… yeah, we get a looooong Christmas/Summer holiday meshed into one. And as weird as it is to you Northern Hemispherers we celebrate Christmas in the summer…! Which is good coz we’re real BBQ people down here) =] ). If you have exams coming up too and would like some tips, check out our How To Survive Exam Prep post (just type it into the search and hit enter…!).
Right, so back to the point… We’re (as you might know already) giving Ebony Ink a makeover!! Which means we’re changing it totally. We’ve already managed to give it a brand new look in between studying our brains to mush for the exams, and now we’re going to change the content too. We think we should let you guys know what’s coming (and going), because after all the blog is all for you. So here’s how it goes:
We are getting rid of our Books, Movies and Music page, so say goodbye to that!
We are considering removing the Embarrassing Stories page
We will be adding a Quotes page
We will add a pictures/photo page
We are still working on the layout and look of the blog (of which 50% is done but there is still room for tweaks in that 50)
If you have any comments/suggestions/questions you can drop us a comment and we’ll be sure to get back. Or you can email us on firstname.lastname@example.org (we won’t spam your email or use it for… I don’t know… dodgy stuff or anything! We’re trustworthy people).
So have a good time while we suffer and struggle through hours of torture in the examination room… =( BUT we’ll be back with all the new stuff we’ve promised (more or less… we might decide to make a few changes =P) but ultimately you guys are in on the plan!!
We’ve been thinking about it a while, and now we’re finally putting it to action. We’re renovating the blog, TOTALLY so bookmark us and check back, you’ll find something a little less haphazard and a lot more fresh.
Please help us out by doing this quick poll, any suggestions/comments are much appreciated! =)
It’s only a couple of minutes but it would help us A LOT!! (sorry about the bad format. i’m not on good terms with this thing today)
Okay so as you might have guessed already, we’re huge Joker fans around here (he’s been our Star Guest too, some really cool pics on there so check it out). So I thought why not take a pic of the sketch I did (that I am VERY proud of, if I may say so myself, as I’m not an artist) of Heath Ledger as the Joker. You may see some resemblance but I don’t promise anything ;).
Heath Ledger Joker Sketch
The lips didn’t turn out quite right, he’s meant to have that signature smirk.
Sooo all you artists out there… any tips? (please? lol I need them!)
Sorry about the huge space out during the last few weeks.
Anyway, I decided that another blog was just too much work for me (hey, I’m a teenager, I’m lazy- we’re wired like that, what can you do?) so instead I replaced it with something slightly more low maintenance:
Our very own, very cool, very inky social networking site on Ning. Click the link and join or just check out our page for a dose of Ebony Ink on Eboink!
For a while now we’ve (Hafsa and I) been trying to come up with something that will personalize the blog a bit more. Finally i came up with an idea that isn’t all that genius but it’ll do: sub-blogs. One for me and one for Hafsa! We just thought that this would help you to get to know us better and give us our own little space to go on and on and on about lots of things… 😉
So look out for those they’re coming VERY VERY soon, and you’ll be able to find them under the WHAT’S EBONY INK page
Added to what Alisha said, i would like to say that there is heaps of new stuff on Ebony Ink. For example, a week or so ago, i added heaps of Green Day songs on the SONGS page and not many people are viewing this. There are bits and pieces added here and there that you may like to check out like our new Star Guest Garfield! so, guys (and girls) please look around and LEAVE COMMENTS because we would love to here from you. And like Alisha said, don’t forget to check out What’s Ebony Ink About? page for our latest feature! Thanks, guys and hope you come back!
