About ebonyink

Just two average (ish) teenagers :)

Pick something that annoys you and redesign how it works.

This ‘something’ is actually a someone.
As I was browsing through the topics on Daily Post, this one popped up, and I happened to be talking to this someone, who, may I add, has a phD in irritating someone till they’d very much like to throw him off a cliff.

So, it was only fitting that the post be about him.

How I would redesign him? Yeah that’s the hard part.
If I take away his annoyingness, I don’t think I even know him anymore.

He’s just happy to be labelled annoying. He’s a self proclaimed annoying expert.
He tells me, and I quote, if I took away his annoying, he’d be “normal”.
What the HECK is normal?
And this is what he tells me: “haha a line which cuts across a tangent of a graph at 90 degress”
See what I mean?

Well, like I said, if he wasn’t annoying, I don’t know what he’d be. He’d lose his title and place as, officially, the most ANNOYING person I have EVER met in my whole life. So I think it might as well be.

So, we kinda failed…

with the whole post-a-week challenge thing and we’re really sorry about that. Things were going great till school started and sucked up all our lives.
BUT we will be posting more often now, even if it isn’t every week. 🙂

:s And yes, we know, we’re failures =S

Is it always better to know the truth, even when it hurts?

Another topic from Daily Post for the Post A Week 2011!
(ps yeah I realize some of these are quite old topics, but I do schedule them to publish later on)

Well, this week’s topic is a rather serious one…
Is it always better to know the truth, even when it hurts?

I think it depends on situation and person.
For me, honesty is key. I hate being lied to… I don’t know. It’s just what it is… I believe that if someone trusts you, if someone has that much faith in you, it’s just not right to break that trust. Even when you think you’re doing that person good. I think this metaphor sums it up pretty accurately: Trust is like a glass or a mirror, once it is broken, you can fix it, but there will always be cracks. If it’s broken, it’s broken, you can’t change that. Those cracks are here to stay.

Just that thought makes a lie terrifying.

What’s one piece of technology you can’t live without?

One piece of technology I can’t live without? My laptop, hands down.
I don’t know what I’d do without it. It’s practically my life.
Although life’s been quite difficult lately… 😥 Hey, leaving behind my camera miles from home has not been easy for me okay?
I’d say there are three things I can’t live without in order of importance: my laptop, my camera and my iPod.
Of course, oxygen, water and food help keep me alive as well. But that’s not important. 😉

The Thing I Like About Ebony Ink…

… is that we’re freeform.

We don’t have a specific theme or genre or any guidelines to follow, which is great when it comes to the Post A Week challenge. We can choose any topic, from anywhere, pretty much write about anything that pleases us. Or not write at all…

It’s great when it comes to blogging, really.

Not that you’d call Ebony Ink a blog… It’s more of a mush. Website, gossip site, scrapbook, blog. A mush.

What do you think?

If You Only Had An Hour To Live…

Yep, another topic from Daily Post, for the Post A Week 2011 challenge!

If you only had an hour to live, what would you do with that hour?
That’s a hard one… much harder than what would you do with a million bucks?

Well, there’s only two ways to go, right? Either you spend the day crying over your misfortune or you party hard for the sixty minutes…

Try to save the world?

So more than one option here.

See, I’m an impulsive person, so it really depends on the situation.

If the world was going to end, who knows, I might just decide I feel like being a hero and attempt to save it.

If I alone was going to die in the next 60 minutes… I’d dress in the whackiest way, go out onto Queen St. (main street of Auckland) and gooo wild. Have some fun, catch it all on cam… Do the craziest things possible, regardless of consequences. Hide in the clothes racks at department stores and jump out at people and leave through the fire exit like a fugitive in a dropkick action movie. Oh c’mon, there’s such a thrill in being rebellious and going through a NO EXIT door. The possibilities are ENDLESS.

And of course, I’d update my Facebook status and arrange for someone to update my stats regularly after I’m gone… just to freak people out.

I’m starting to like the idea of my last 60 minutes… Any chance I could get a notice beforehand? =P

So that’s what I’d do…

What about you?
(comment below!)

Charity begins at home…

… BUT it doesn’t have to end there.
Poverty is the everyday reality for two thirds of the world.
The very least we can do is raise awareness!

Exams, exams, EXAAAAAAMS!!

So… that time of the year again, eh, for you Northern Hemispherers =P

Coz us Southerns are on holiday 🙂

But don’t feel bad. The tables do turn on us. A few times each year…

There is NO reason to freak out though, because I have put together a spell that will magically turn all your grades into the best there is.

Just kidding.

Sorry, that was a bit mean. I feel bad now, so I’ll give you something you can work with here:

You won’t be magically zapped to the secret location of my spell, but you will be equipped with some helpful hints by the end of the article 🙂

Good luck people, break a leg! (not literally… =S and just for the record I take no responsibilities for any injuries inflicted on you after having read that)

Share something that makes you smile

So, I was checking out the Daily Post blog, since I’ve taken up the Post A Week 2011 challenge, and I came across this topic:

Share something that makes you smile…

Well, there’s a lot that makes me smile, jokes, AFV, people falling over, things falling over… people falling over that make things fall over… and so on and so forth.

As you can see, I’m an extremely decisive person… *ahem* so I’m going to put up a truck load* of things that makes me smile.

*and by truck load, I’m referring to one of these little Tonka trucks:

Alright, jokes aside, let’s get started. Haha, just kidding. Speaking of jokes, here are a few that cracked a smile:

Why do ducks have webbed feet?
To stamp out fires!

Why do elephants have flat feet?
To stamp out burning ducks! 😀

When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300°C.

The Russians used a pencil.

A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: “That’s the ugliest baby that I’ve ever seen. Ugh!” The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: “The driver just insulted me!

The man says: “You go right up there and tell him off – go ahead, I’ll hold your monkey for you.”

My grandfather always said, “Don’t watch your money; watch your health.” So one day while I was watching my health, someone stole my money. It was my grandfather.

Moving on… Falls. They’re great. Usually. Sometimes not so much if you’re doing the falling. But nonetheless- falls are great. Falls are/can be epic. Falls are smiles.

But the best falls? WEDDING FALLS!
Thank you AFV 🙂
